Chastity and keyholding

One partner controls when, or whether, the other gets release. Often paired with FLR and tease and denial.

What it is

In chastity play, one partner, the keyholder, decides when the other is allowed sexual release. Some couples use a physical device. Others keep it as a rule and a promise.

Variations

  • Rules only. No device. He asks permission.
  • Device play. A cage or belt, worn for hours, days or longer.
  • Tease and denial. Lots of attention, very little release.

Why it appeals

For the keyholder, it’s a clear, daily expression of control. For the one locked, the anticipation and focus on her pleasure can be intense. Many couples say it keeps desire high.

How to bring it up

Start with a short, rule-only challenge, like a weekend. If you try a device, research fit and materials first.

Ground rules

  • Health first. Remove any device immediately if there’s pain, numbness or swelling.
  • Keep a spare key somewhere safe and known to both of you.
  • Agree on how long, and what happens if either of you wants out early.
